Associate Degree in Pre-Business Studies
The associate degree program is designed to provide a consistency between it and the preparation students require to pursue any of the business bachelor’s degree curricula in the Haile/US Bank College of Business. Students must fulfill the associate degree general studies component (see elsewhere in this catalog) and complete a minimum of 66 semester hours of coursework outlined below.Core Requirement:
- ACC 200 Principles of Accounting I – Financial
- ACC 201 Principles of Accounting II - Managerial
- BUS 230 Legal Environment
- ECO 200 Principles of Macroeconomics
- ECO 201 Principles of Microeconomics
- INF 101 Computer Literacy and Informatics
- MAT 109 Algebra for College Students (or ACT math score of 23 or higher)
- MGT 205 Business Management Principles
General Education Requirements:
- ENG 101 College Writing
- SPE 101 Principles of Speech Communication
- MAT 114 Finite Mathematics
- ENG 291 Advanced Writing
- One course from humanities/fine arts component
- One course from natural sciences component
- One course from social or behavioral sciences component
Electives:
Students should select general education courses and electives that fit into the bachelor’s degree requirements for business majors. Advising is available in the Haile/US Bank College of Business to assist students in making these choices.
