Who We Are

The goal of the Center for Economic Education is to improve the quality and quantity of economic instruction at all grade levels in order to promote economic and financial literacy in the community.

The Center serves the Northern Kentucky area including Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Grant, Gallatin, Pendleton, and Owen county.

Affiliated with the Kentucky Council on Economic Education and the National Council on Economic Education.

What We Do

Professional Development Programs for Teachers
  • Designed to empower teachers to teach economics with confidence
  • For teachers of grade K-12 in a variety of disciplines
Graduate Credit Workshops for Teachers
  • Designed for teachers enrolled in graduate programs
  • Courses in economic content as well as methods of teaching economics
Free-Loan Resource Materials
  • Curriculum materials for all grade levels that integrate economics into the curriculum areas including business, practical living, history, geography, mathematics, science.
  • Materials are keyed to the Kentucky Core Content and the Voluntary National Content Standards in Economics
Curriculum Consultation
  • Experience teachers and economic educators are available to meet with teachers at the Center or at their school during planning period, after school, or faculty meetings to assist with teaching economics as part of the core content
  • Consultation tailored to meet the needs of the individual teacher or school

  • Annual Bringing Home the Gold: Financial Fitness Summer Camp for Teens in grades 8-12
