Why Choose NKU?

NKU has become a premier institution of higher learning in Greater Cincinnati and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  As one of the fastest growing schools in Kentucky, NKU enrolls more than 14,000 students. NKU is a major metropolitan university where professors still get ‘up close and personal’ with our students.  Even through growth Northern Kentucky University remains “Quality-Made and Community Driven.”

NKU is an ideal place to foster learning and development and thus a perfect place to house the new ELOC program.

NKU core values include being learning-centered, encouraging innovation, and valuing public engagement.  These values are incorporated into the ELOC program with the adult-learning frame work ACT, the innovative program and delivery approach, and the emphasis on engagement with the community through a summer practicum and course projects.

The local business community includes Fortune 500 corporations, medium sized businesses, entrepreneurial ventures, high-technology firms, manufacturing organizations, service organizations, and a multitude of non- profit and governmental organizations that all deal with issues of leadership and organizational change.  These organizations will become the context for action learning in the program.

The program is offered at the METS (Metropolitan Education and Training Services) Center, a state-of-the art training facility located near the Cincinnati- Northern Kentucky airport for easy access.   METS is a center for corporate learning that was created as a public service extension of NKU.
