Bachelor of Science in Career and Technical Education

The Career and Technical Education Program prepares career and technical teachers for:

  • Secondary schools (high schools)
  • Post-secondary schools, such as career centers, technical institutes, correctional facilities, and community colleges
  • Individuals preparing for careers in corporate industrial/technical training, personnel development, or special industrial re-training programs
  • Those seeking general technology careers in business and industry

This program is not intended for individuals seeking provisional teacher certification in vocational-industrial education or technology education.

Students majoring in this program are required to demonstrate computer proficiency prior to graduation.

The program also prepares you to be an administrator at the post-secondary school level.

The program provides you with knowledge and skills in planning instruction, managing learning environments, assessing student performance, and appropriate instructional strategies to students who have, or will have, extensive work experience in a technical or trade area.
