Three CMGT Alumni Honored
Three Northern Kentucky University construction management alumni - Cory Cookston, Neal Kreke and James Panasiti - will receive a Preservation Project award at the 2009 Boone County Historic Preservation Awards ceremony on May 28.
This is the 13th annual Boone County Preservation Awards event, hosted by the Boone County Public Library.
Matt Becher, officer of the Boone County Historic Preservation Board, said the award is presented in recognition of their outstanding documentation of the c. 1810 Jonathan Carlton House (aka Schramm's Tavern) in Petersburg, Ky. The students completed the work as part of their capstone experience in the NKU construction management program.
Dr. Ed Workman has been teaching the Renovation & Restoration (CMGT 424) course for many years and requires students to demonstrate their knowledge of construction by completing a major project, typically for an external client.
