About the Haile/US Bank College of Business

John M. Beehler, Dean  MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

It is truly an exciting time in the College of Business at Northern Kentucky University.  In August 2008, we announced the single largest gift in NKU history of over $15 million to name the college.  We are now officially known as the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./US Bank Foundation College of Business.  We are very thankful for this landmark investment in the college and our vision for the future.  This investment will pay great dividends for NKU and help to continue our deep commitment to regional stewardship and the economic development of our region.

The Haile/US Bank Foundation gift is a tribute to our faculty and staff who built our strong academic programs over time.  It will enable us to move our college to the next level in its development, capitalizing on the efforts of the past.  The gift will support excellence in faculty, students and administration as well as to enhance our efforts in internationalization and the study of investments in finance.  This gift includes endowments for three Endowed Chairs for faculty, a Faculty Development Fund, a Student Support Fund, and the Dean's Leadership Chair in Business.  In addition, non-endowed support is included for a Student Investment Fund and start-up funds.  We hope that this gift will lead to future investments in our college for unrestricted support, specific programs, and a new business building.

The current portfolio of programs in the Haile/US Bank College of Business includes undergraduate programs across the traditional business disciplines as well as specialty programs in Sports Business and Construction Management.  Our Entrepreneurship program has achieved a national reputation and over the past year graduated the first student in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to major in entrepreneurship.  We provide many opportunities for our students to engage with our business community through cooperative education and internships, student groups, and our annual Business Week event designed to help students prepare for their future careers and to interact with business professionals.

Our graduate programs include the MBA, the Master of Accountancy and our innovative niche executive program - the Master of Leadership and Organizational Change (ELOC).  Over the past year, our MBA program was recognized as one of the best in the U.S. by the Princeton Review in its Best Business Schools.

We have a strong variety of outreach centers that meet the needs of our region including the Entrepreneurship Institute, International Business Center, Alternative Dispute Resolution Center, Small Business Development Center, Marketing Research Partnership Program, Center for Economic Education, and the Center for Economic Analysis and Development.

At the Haile/US Bank College of Business, our future is bright as we strive to continually improve everything we do as an AACSB - International accredited business school.  We look forward to serving you in meeting your educational needs in business and we look for opportunities to partner with you in meeting the needs of our region for future prosperity.
