Darrell D. Payne is an Assistant Professor in social work in the College of Education, Human Service and Social Work at Northern Kentucky University. He is in his fifth year as a tenure track professor.
Mr. Payne obtained his J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, M.S.S.W. from the University of Louisville; and B.S.W. from University of Dayton. Mr. Payne has over 17 years of teaching experience. Mr. Payne has taught as an adjunct professor at University of Kentucky; adjunct professor at Wright State University; Assistant Professor at the graduate and undergraduate level at Indiana University; and served as Assistant Dean in the College of Professional Studies at Northern Kentucky University.
Mr. Payne’s professional legal experiences include employment with the Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office in Ohio, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with Butler County in Ohio, and Legal Counsel for Cox Financial Corporation. In the past fifteen years, Mr. Payne has practiced in the private sector in the areas of Probate, Juvenile Law, Mediation, Criminal Law and Personal Injury.
Mr. Payne has presented at over 30 local, state and national conferences, as well as spoke at over 20 training and motivational Workshops. Mr. Payne’s mediation experience expands a decade. He has mediated in the areas of personal injury, family, contracts and ethics. His areas of study include community organization, conflict resolution, social work ethics & malpractice, and conflict resolution.
